Public Entry, what.

This Journal is Friends-Only.

I tend to rant and rave on various topics, including but not limited to WoW and gaming, RPing, and various spiritual things. I post on an annoyingly regular basis.

Please comment to be added if I haven't added you first. If I've added you, it's because I find you interesting, know you from World of Warcraft or a previous game, or I know you in real life.

Character List: Thorium Brotherhood (US RP) )

Moon Guard: Alliance )

I'm really terrible at the multi-server thing, though, so 90% of the time I'm on TB.

More Thorium Brotherhood Resources:

TB RP Guild Listing
Thorium Brotherhood Downtime Forums - A community for TB's RPers to gather. As of February 28, 2009, I seem to be the site administrator; contact me here, at the forum or via e-mail at erebusterror at hotmail dot com if there are technical issues. In-game, check us out by typing /join tbdf!

Thorium Brotherhood Wiki - Not often updated, but some folk do like to use it.

Previous Identities:

In Runescape, I was Keistera and Erebus Sabre. I occasionally log in to get confused and log off again. I still have Keistera / Erebus Sabre / Erbrynn / Mama Ursa.

For those interested, I'm slowly working on figuring out how gearing a Panzerkin is going to go. I'm using the Sandbox in Warcrafter to figure it out, this particular "project" is at http://www.warcrafter.net/sandbox/140376

Feedback and suggestions are appreciated, of course, but realize that it's not near complete.

Goals are: 16k SP, 25k HP, 540 Def and/or uncrittable via Resil. I'm multitasking again, so this will change, haha. ;)

Originally posted to the TBDF - corrections and further input are welcome, I mean, I'm mostly regurgitating what I've read and translating it through my own filters. I think I get this stuff, but there's bound to be information I've missed.

Cut for those that aren't interested in formula-free (sorta) theorycrafting. )

The Great Panzerkin Content Hunt

Y'all are gonna get real tired, real fast, of me going on about this. :P

A Google Blog Search revealed some hits that I need to check out as I go along, this is for reference:

Panzerkin: A Beginner's Guide - Looks good, decent pre-Wrath supplement to the Europe WoW forum guide. Since this was during the time the pre-Wrath patch was in, I think this might be the most recent resource.

The Beginning of my Life as a Panzerkin - This guy goes over some gear he used pre-Wrath. Can't judge yet if it's good or not, I'll have to do more than just glance over.

Level 80 Panzerkin Build Discussion
- From the WoWHead forums, a Panzerkin build and the reasons for taking the skills.

Will Moonkin Tanking be Possible in WotLK? - Another forum post. Haven't browsed it much yet.

Moonfire Spamming Your Way to 80 in Wrath - This looks promising for helping me level in Northrend!

Moonfire! Vile Blasphemies That Will Get Me Shunned - What little I've skimmed so far is entertaining! Talks about Restokin and Panzerkin.

Panzerkin WoWWiki - Self-explanatory. Links.

Post Tagged Panzerkin @ Wowinsider - More to slog through!

As I find stuff, I'll update this post.

On Friday, I logged onto Windrunner (PvE) and ran around on a Night Elf Druid in order to scrape together the funds for a very important mission: Send Information Request to Resident Panzerkin, Lisri.

Now, I didn't expect that I would get a reply. Level two alt sending letters asking about resources for budding Panzerkin? Pshaw! Right. But, lo and behold in my inbox today? A reply! Directly to my e-mail (since I gave her my e-mail address).

The reply goes like so:

"The only others I'm aware of are Lithanial (who doesn't appear to actually be playing any longer based on
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Al%27Akir&n=Lithanial) for pre-bc panzerkin, and Hypnoticrage (http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Neptulon&n=Hypnoticrage). To my knowledge, there are very few people pursuing this, and currently no solid information on what the best way of going about it is and no sites devoted to panzerkin tanking. If I know of more than 5 people or so who are planning on doing it and actively working towards it, I'll set up a group or something, but it looks like just three people so far :).

One idea has deep feral as the strategy for mitigation/uncrittability, eliminating the need for resilience gear; the other idea uses resilience gear, with points into the mp5 talents in resto or light feral up to thick hide. The principles in Lithanial's lvl 70 guide (http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=305842304&sid=1) are still valid, it's just a matter of actually getting the WotLK itemization to work out. The cornerstone of my current tanking kit is one piece of ilvl 213 deadly gladiator 25-man archavon leggings, with everything else being relatively easily obtained (blue heroic badge shoulders, craftable boots, a Darkmoon card that's purchasable for 2k gold or less, etc.) and the rest of the resil/def is made up using enchants/gems and pots. That's the uncrittable via PVP gear strategy."

So:

1. Panzerkin is still viable.
2. Resilience can be used to help make the Panzerkin uncrittable.
3. It's AoE tanking, which I love.

A Friendly Reminder to Current and Future Friends~

Trust [truhst]:
Firm reliance on the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing.

Trust is important. If I allow one to view what's in here, it means that I trust them to do - or not do - several things. One, I trust that s/he will not share my personal information, my rantings and ravings, with others. Two, I trust that s/he knows full and well what he or she may be stepping into and, as such, that s/he will not be angry at me for what s/he reads. I do not like drama. I may talk about it often, depending upon my mood or the week, but that does not denote an enjoyment of it.

In order to keep my sanity, I have to rant and roar in a safe place where I can get a pat on the head and a "Been there, you'll be fine" on occasion because, otherwise, I could blow a gasket and cause real damage. Angry!Matojo is not pretty. Angry!Matojo says things that she shouldn't to people that don't otherwise deserve it and could stretch it out forever and ever.

So, I rant behind filters, do what I have to, and walk away. I leave it out of the public eye so that I do not cause drama and, once the commentary dies down, it is otherwise lost and forgotten.

"But Matojo," the viewer says, "why don't you speak to the people directly?"

In some cases, I do. I try. I do in a case where I'm absolutely certain that talking won't make it worse. Otherwise? I just need to vent. That's what my journal is - a space for getting things out of my system so I can move on.

I trust that people I choose to let in - people I have met over the years, chat with, RP with, who have let me into their universes - will keep these things to themselves. I offer the same courtesy to everyone else whether they seek it or not - it shouldn't be too much to ask.
